everything   is just   a game

Hey! My name is Dai Tarica.  I run my design practice under the name TAMIZ ESTUDIO: since I am a very multifaceted person, this somehow helps me focus on my designer alter-ego.

TAMIZ ESTUDIO is all about 1:1 co-design sessions, and I've learned along the way that human connection is the most important factor in making these collaborations successful. When this kind of connection exists, work never feels like work to me. Instead, it’s all about creating meaningful projects with cool and kind people, engaging in the creative flow, and feeling both enthusiastic and purposeful. simultaneously.

I know this is an unorthodox way of  working , so I feel really grateful with every client-friend who trusts this process.
Once, I heard someone say, “Only work with clients you would have dinner with.” I love this philosophy because it allows me to stay authentic and connected through my practice. I think the same should apply when working with a designer. So, let me tell you a bit about myself:

I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This city is probably my most formative school: complex, beautiful, challenging, and friendly.
I studied graphic design at the University of Buenos Aires, which I consider one of the most interesting places to learn design in America (kind of like a southern, crazy and rebel grandchild of the Bauhaus School).

After completing my degree, I felt something was missing, so I started my journey as an artist.
For the last ten years, I’ve taken classes, courses, and critique groups; participated in residency programs; had my own art studios; exhibited in both solo and group shows; created collective projects; made urban interventions and installations; and traveled the world.

The designer and the artist in me are in constant dialogue. I believe being an artist makes me a better designer every day, and I always bring the artist's perspective to TAMIZ ESTUDIO design sessions. If you’re curious, here’s a glimpse of my artistic work:

I’m a huge fan of deep conversation, philosophy, and community building. Since 2020, I’ve been a member of the Sandbox Global Community, where I’ve met amazing people and grown in unexpected ways.

I consider myself part of the feminist Green Wave. In 2019, I created LO DIGO (I Say It), a fanzine-workshop project for women survivors of domestic violence, intersecting design, art, feminism, and activism. You can see some of the 60 fanzines created in this virtual library: decirloquequieras.com

When I’m in nature, I lose track of time. When I travel, I feel most like myself. I collect ugly/beautiful flyers from the street, as well as strange books and stones.
I love the meditative and self-discovery power of photography.
I am a music lover, I play the piano from time to time, and I’m super proud of my curated music playlists.

In 2023, Ro Gal and I co-created ensayo.gif (rehearsal.gif), an in-person workshop focused on training in digital visual improvisation.  Over two months, local artists and designers brought their laptops, and we had night rituals where we practiced breaking the rules at image-making.

I am always asking questions. I’m a team player, and I believe that design can be a regenerative practice to mend the world, create beauty, and help humans connect better with each other.

Friendship is a big priority for me. I’m a part of a big, loud and pasionate family.  We are constantly debating and learning from each other. We are all crazy fans of our neighborhood’s main park.
