In 2021, after a year of long quarantine periods and curfew nights, Rocío Gal launched her first music album, with "ARRIBA" as the main song. We co-scripted, directed, and edited the music video.

DANCING AT THE END OF THE WORLD
“Get up, wake up, darlin’, the end of the world is just beginning.” Something like that says the opening line. This is definitely a wake-up call song: an invitation to act, to move, to explore, and express who we are. To do it now, as long as we can.
With the sense of urgency and longing for physical connection that the pandemic left in our bodies, we chose to portray this through a large dance piece created by the choreographer Sol Figueroa. The characters go through a transformational and awakening journey, from literally being asleep, to slow movement, 1:1 connection, synchronized movement, and absolute improvisation and celebration.
In the final take, Rocío sits quietly on a school bench and slowly takes a sip of coffee: even if the feeling of urgency is real, let’s do it softly, one step at a time.
